Meerbomennu

Meerbomennu (More Trees Now) is an international grassroots environmental movement focused on increasing tree numbers in Europe, especially in the UK, Ireland, Netherlands, Germany, and France.

The initiative rescues surplus young trees from places where they won’t survive, stores them in community hubs, and helps volunteers and local groups plant them in locations where they can grow, strengthening local ecosystems and engaging people in climate action.

These “second-chance” saplings are harvested from areas such as parks or nature reserves, stored in local hubs, and given away for free to landowners, farmers, community initiatives and anyone with space to plant, all to increase biodiversity, sequester carbon, and build climate action through community participation.

Meerbomennu participated at the final Conference of Life Terra Scaling Nature Restoration & Community Participation , a day filled with dialogue, collaboration, and forward-looking action.
